Why we do not recommend Fiberglass Pools

We do not live in a climate that is best suited for fiberglass pools. In our winters, the ground freezes and thaws which makes the ground and anything in the ground shift. Fiberglass pools are likely to crack during this process. The steel wall and vinyl liner allow the flexibility that fiberglass does not.

Because fiberglass pools are built from a mold, the consumer is limited to the shapes and sizes offered by the various fiberglass pool manufacturers.

No wider than 16′. Fiberglass pools are shipped via the road. Shipping restrictions limit the width of the fiberglass pool shell to 16′

Repairs on colored finishes do not match
Many fiberglass pool manufacturer use colored finished that do not match in the event that a repair is needed.

Fiberglass pools can get osmotic blisters.
Osmotic blisters are usually described as small bumps or bruises in the pool shell. They form when tiny water molecules get behind the gel coat layer and create a chemical reaction with glass fibers. While it won’t compromise the structure of your pool, it will deteriorate the finish and become quite unattractive.
